Background

Uthando is the word that the Zulu-people use for love, affection, and liking.

The history of Uthando Foundation starts with the opent in een nieuw venster Lean on Me project. This project enables people from all over the world to work as a volunteer on different AIDS-related projects. Four out of the current five members of the board have worked as volunteers on these projects, and the experiences they had there led to the start of Uthando Foundation in January 2004.
