Uthando and Be More go together
In januari 2004 Uthando was founded. Five young people, driven by passion, who dedicated themselves to the children of South Africa. Ever since Uthando kept this promise, over and over again. Thanks to the support of hundreds of donors Uthando has been able to make a difference in the lives of just as many kids.
In the past few years we celebrated many successes:
• the visit of 10 children from South Africa to The Netherlands
• the action together with local broadcasting station 'Radio en TV Gelderland'
• rebuilding Agape orphanage
• helping countless abused children by supporting Bobbi Bear
• and the education fund
are some examples of Uthando's achievements.
Uthando also laid the foundation of 
Be More, a new organization offering volunteering opportunities at schools, orphanages, hospices and street child organizations abroad. With a total of 16 projects in South Africa and Uganda, hundreds of volunteers spending several weeks at these projects each year, our daughter organization has grown rapidly.
Uthando’s chairman Michel Groenenstijn started Be More. Since the foundation the rest of Uthando's board has been closely involved or volunteered with Be More. Be More's success, the growing amount of time we spend at Be More, the experience of Uthando and the overlap in the mission made us question whether we might not be even more succesful working together.
Therefor we decided to join forces per januari first, 2009. We made arrangements for Be More to continue Uthando's activities per this date. We will keep supporting 'our' projects and children via Be More.
Uthando's balance per januari first, about € 20.000,-, will be used to directly support the projects of Be More. The exact destination of the money will be decided upon during the next couple of weeks.
