Sow a little, reap a lot

A while ago, three plastic tunnels were donated to Agape Child Care Centre. These tunnels were first used to grow tomatoes for the children at Agape. Recently however, the tunnels started serving another purpose.

The vegetables that are grown in the tunnels grow and taste so good, that a local supermarket wants to buy part of the production. The money that Agape makes from this can then be used towards the running costs of the centre.

Rijk Zwaan Nederland donated seeds for tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. Uthando donated the other materials, while partner organization
Be More provided a
volunteer to set up the project on-site.

The older boys living in the centre are also involved in the project. They each have their own task in taking care of the crops. This way, they are prepared for their future, when they finish school and get a job.
If everything goes well, these crops will yield a rich harvest. Food for the children, income for the centre and a work experience for the older boys. Sow a little, reap a lot!
