Coins for charity

Research has shown that there is still a total of 1.4 billion guldens (approx. 635 million euro or 760 million US$) present in Holland. 2006 is the last year this old currency can be changed for euros. Local broadcaster Radio en TV Gelderland therefore started a campaign to collect this money for Uthando. In the consumerprogram Hallo Gelderland! viewers are urged every Friday to search forgotten drawers and old socks to find old Dutch coins. On January 20, the amount collected was already Fl 1.849,95 (approx. $ 11500,-)!
