What will be done with the money raised?
How will the money raised be spent? What are the plans for the new home?
A new Agape
![]()
Plans to rebuild Agape have been around for quite some time. The plans to rebuild Agape as a community center surrounded by small houses have been drawn over a year ago. Lack of resources was the main reason why these plans could not be put into action.
The fire and the resulting fundraisers had a catalyzing effect. The amount that has been raised in both the United States, the United Kingdom and Holland has reached approx. $ 200,000.- This is enough to start putting the dreams that Agape has had for so long into action.
What are these plans exactly? The drawings contain a main building, surrounded by a number of smaller buildings. The main building will serve as a community center where education, courses, medical services, prevention programs etc. will be offered to the area surrounding Agape.
The smaller buildings form permanten housing for groups of up to six children and one housemother. This model is aims to simulate a 'normal' environment for the children as much as possible. An additional advantage is that these houses can be inhabited as soon as they are finished, and that Agape can build as many as resources permit.
Thusfar the plans, but what is the current state of affairs? The final permits for the rebuilding of Agape are going to be approved by government very soon, after which we will immediately start realizing a dream: a new home for the children of Agape!
